For Sale: 1960 Jaguar Mark IX in Candia, New Hampshire for sale in Candia, NH

Vehicle Description Often mistaken for a Rolls or a Bentley, the Mark IX is the last of the tall, stately Jag Sedans/Saloons.
Built with the traditional Body-on-Frame construction, all later Jaguars used the lower, sleeker Uni-body Construction.
This example is a head-turner that you can actually drive.
I purchased the car 12 years ago as reasonably nice cosmetic restoration - but with little attention having been paid to the running gear.
I now have $50,000 in receipts for work done to make it the Dependable Highway Cruiser that I had originally intended it to be.
However, I have found another car - a 1952 Riley RMF - that I like even better for that purpose and I don't need both.
Starting from the ground up:
Wide Whitewall Radial Tires from Diamond Back Tires from South Carolina Master Cylinder and all Wheel Cylinders sleeved by Apple Hydraulics All Brake pads replaced Emergency Brake Mechanism Rebuilt All Steel and Rubber Brake Lines replaced Detroit Gear DG250 Automatic Transmissions and Torque Converter rebuilt.
Rear End gears changed from a 4.
10 to a 3.
54 ratio to provide an effective 86% Overdrive.
This allows cruising all day at 75 mph at 3,000 rpm instead of 4,000 rpm Also added Limited Slip Differential to avoid the embarrassment of getting such a stately car stuck in the wet grass on a car show field.
Front End completely disassembled and all parts powder-coated Power steering rebuilt All bushings replaced Ball Joints replaced Tie Rod Ends replaced Gear Reduction Starter Radiator re-cored Electric Fan added to allow use in parades without overheating Carburetors rebuilt by Paltech in Brunswick, Ohio Distributor rebuilt by Rob Medynski at British Vacuum Unit in Canterbury, NH Cap, Rotor & Wire Set replaced Retainers installed for the Valve Spring Guide Buckets 9 to 1 Compression - Blue Head Exhaust Manifolds re-Coated Gas Tanks removed, cleaned and replaced Both Tanks, both Fuel Pumps work and Fuel Gage works with both tanks Water Pump rebuilt Wiring Harnesses fully chased and all electrical systems functional Tach and Speedo reconditioned by Nisonger Instruments in Mamaroneck, NY Both front and rear clocks refurbished.
But it is now 12 years older than it was when I bought it and the cosmetics again need some attention.
The original red leather interior is still quite serviceable with the exception that the driver's seat is a taxi-cab seat.
Although the leather is still good, the springing and padding needs some re-work.
That and the driver's side rear armrest needs to be recovered.
It's a 20-footer and still impresses at that distance.
At numerous Club Events, people walk right past the more familiar XKs and E-Types saying, Hey.
What's this I like this!! But paint imperfections can be seen as you come nearer.
I wanted it to be a Driver - and it does that well.
